Newsletter Privacy Notice

How we handle
your waitlist data.

Full details on what we collect when you join the IndiaNiva launch list — and how we protect your privacy under EU GDPR.

In one sentence

We collect your name, email, and country only to send you saree guides and brand updates (no more than two emails per month), we never sell your data, and you can unsubscribe anytime.

1. What you sign up for

When you join the IndiaNiva launch list at /waitlist/, you are opting in to receive:

— Beginner-friendly saree guides and fabric education
— Brand journey updates from Munich (supplier visits, photography sessions, design choices)
— Notifications about the online shop launch in July 2027
— Tailor Directory launch updates for your city

You will not receive: advertising for third-party brands, unrelated marketing, social media spam, or daily promotional emails.

2. Email frequency

We send no more than two emails per month.

This is a deliberate commitment. Newsletter subscribers in Europe receive enough marketing email already — we want to send only when we have something genuinely worth your time.

In the months immediately before the July 2027 launch, you may receive slightly more frequent emails (early access offer, launch reminder, opening day) — we will tell you transparently if that is happening.

3. What we collect

The waitlist signup form collects:

Your name (so we can address you personally)
Your email address (so we can email you — obviously)
Your city (optional — helps us plan tailor directory rollout)
Your country (so we can prioritise EU shipping rollout)
Your consent to receive IndiaNiva updates (required tick-box)

We do not collect your phone number, address, date of birth, social media handles, or any sensitive personal data.

4. Legal basis (GDPR Art. 6 §1 a)

The legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given by ticking the consent box on the signup form. This consent is freely given, specific, informed, and unambiguous, as required by GDPR.

You can withdraw this consent at any time — see Section 8 below.

5. Confirmation and double opt-in

After you sign up, we may send a confirmation email asking you to confirm your subscription (double opt-in). This protects you from anyone signing up using your email address without your permission.

If you do not confirm, we will not add you to the active mailing list, and your details will be deleted after 30 days.

6. How long we keep your data

— While you remain subscribed: indefinitely, until you unsubscribe
— Maximum 3 years from signup (if you never engage with our emails, we will email asking if you still want to stay subscribed; if no response, we delete you)
— Unconfirmed signups: deleted after 30 days
— After unsubscribe: we keep a minimal record (email + unsubscribe date) for 12 months to comply with anti-spam regulations

7. Where your data is stored

Your waitlist data is stored on:

Our WordPress site, hosted by Hostinger in EU data centres, with a Data Processing Agreement in place
WPForms, the plugin that processes the signup form — data stays on our server, not transmitted to external WPForms servers

If we add a dedicated email marketing service (such as Brevo, MailerLite, or similar) before the July 2027 launch, we will update this notice and obtain fresh consent where required.

8. How to unsubscribe or modify your data

You can unsubscribe at any time by:

— Clicking the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of any IndiaNiva email
— Emailing info@indianiva.com with the subject “Unsubscribe”

You can request to see, correct, or delete the data we hold about you by emailing info@indianiva.com. We respond within 30 days, as required by GDPR.

9. We never sell your data

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data with any third party — ever. This is not just a legal commitment; it is a brand promise.

Your data is used solely to communicate with you on behalf of IndiaNiva.

10. Your GDPR rights

As an EU/EEA resident, you have the following rights regarding your data:

— Right of access (Art. 15)
— Right to rectification (Art. 16)
— Right to erasure / “right to be forgotten” (Art. 17)
— Right to restrict processing (Art. 18)
— Right to data portability (Art. 20)
— Right to object (Art. 21)
— Right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7)
— Right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority

The supervisory authority for IndiaNiva is the Bayerisches Landesamt für Datenschutzaufsicht (BayLDA), based in Ansbach, Bavaria.
